Do you remember what it was like as a young one, before you embodied the beliefs and conditioning of the other humans around you, when you simply knew you belonged to the wild, wondrous web of life?
When you could spend countless moments fascinated by the creations of your own imagination and the rich well of sensation to be found when connecting with your body, digging in the dirt, traipsing through a park or the woods?
Have you ever had the experience of your breath being absolutely taken away by the exquisite array of colors painting the sky at sunset or when sharing a moment of spontaneous connection with a wild animal?
These aren’t meant to be rare, exclusive experiences.
We aren’t too old for awe and wonder. Yet somehow we’ve come to believe exactly that. And EcoErotic Explorations are the antidote to this pervasive illness that has infected the majority of us walking through the world passing as adults.
I say “passing” because I believe, and am not alone in believing, that our dominant culture is lacking in many essential elements of what nurtures true adults into being, not least of all the presence of initiated elders to guide us along our paths and supportive circles of community to help us mark the rites of passage that bring us to the threshold of our adulthood.
Also, many of us have neglected our inner child, or conversely are ruled by that one’s woundedness, and have gotten frozen into adolescent impulses and insecurities because we don’t actually know how to truly grow up. Plus “the system” doesn’t want us too. We’re much more pliable this way.
So what does all this have to do with your sex life, you might be asking? And what does it have to do with getting out from behind closed doors and four walls, into a direct relationship with nature?
EVERYTHING.
We are erotic by nature. What that means is our very nature is to live as the sensuous, curious, creative beings that we are, ones who have the capacity to experience and express a myriad of emotions, ones whose bodies are wired for vast depths and breadths of sensation, ones whose intrinsic way of being and knowing ourselves is through relationship.
But our dominant culture has thwarted this natural expression at every turn. Numbed out and cut off, overstimulated and uninspired, we spend more hours staring at screens than at the sky, more hours earning a living than making love.
Something is very wrong here and we’re going to set it right, one EcoErotic Exploration at a time. This is a space for learning how to bring play and curiosity back into your embodiment, communing with all the other sensuous beings who are longing to touch you, unwinding the tight binds of conformity that culture has demanded and unleashing the wildness within you.
These sessions are nature-based. When and as possible we will spend time outdoors together, ideally somewhere where the presence of the outer wilds can be seen, felt and encountered, though this isn’t essential. There are EcoErotic practices available to you simply by looking out your window or connecting to a houseplant for instance. And there are ways to weave this wisdom into your somatic coaching sessions, whether in person or over video.
During these times together I will share the wisdom my elders have given me and invite you to encounter – and be encountered by – the wild pulse of life, of Eros, that is longing to be in relationship with you. You’ll explore your whole body and the body of Earth in new ways. You’ll form new connections and open to new possibilities.
Why limit yourself to intimate relationship with a small circle of humans when you can open yourself to an abundant circle of wild life that you, by your very erotic nature, belong to?
It’s time to re-member who and what and how you truly are. To enliven your senses, deepen your capacity for pleasure and delight, turn yourself on in new ways, some of which might surprise you. Your sex life will get better, this much is true. But as in all things Erotic Wholeness while, yes, it’s about your sex, it’s really about so much more.
